With a Little Help from My Friends
Recently several of my readers have expressed a desire to support my blogging through pledges as through Patreon or equivalent platforms. It touches me that my readers derive enough value in my work to offer such support.
It is true that there is some cost to producing this content. There are subscription fees to proprietary databases and archives for the research conducted. Most prominently, there is an expenditure in time, a value universal to us all.
That said, more than any revenue to be generated from my blogging, what would most help is that you share the content with others. For a while now, Facebook has prohibited me from boosting posts (advertising) for reasons which it refuses to disclose. Additionally people who directly follow this page report that my posts are not shown to them unless someone sends the post through Messenger. This sounds like a case of shadow-banning, but despite "reinvented" Mark Zuckerberg claiming in January 2025 to make Facebook less authoritarian in its internal, undivulged censorship, there are reports of its persistence... along suspiciously partisan lines.
All this is just to say that if you find value in my work, then please share it widely with family and friends. More important than any personal benefit to me in pledges is that these ideas reach new readers!
