Back in 2007 I joined the Liberty movement during Ron Paul’s second presidential campaign. Since then there have been many instances of discomfort in my journey, from door-to-dooring in New York’s bitter winter, to being a pariah as the sole Libertarian at numerous social gatherings, yet all growth entails some discomfort. Since 2020 I had grown comfortable slowly growing a blog on Zuckbook, but some close friends repeatedly suggested that I expand onto Substack, and I thank them for gently urging me out of my comfort zone towards continued growth!
Currently I serve as Representative to registered Libertarians in the Hudson Valley, Upstate New York, safeguarding their interests for Judicial District Nine. But of course, solidarity to Liberty goes way beyond district lines, state boundaries and even national borders. The greatest expression of civilization is the measure of voluntaryism in a given society, not the sophistication with which government exerts coercion and bypasses consent. Those of us who realize this immutable truth belong to a worldwide fellowship with philosophical underpinnings tracing back centuries… and our best years are straight ahead!
This blog shares my observances and experiences within the Movement. Typically I author at least one article per week, but sometimes I publish daily if time and inspiration allow. Articles previously published on other platforms may be posted here on Substack if still relevant. If you have already read these articles, kindly share them with family and friends! Our Movement has brilliant scholars who publish fascinating books on wide-ranging topics, and on the continuum’s opposite end, we have meme-lords producing incisive graphics lampooning issues and politicians. This blog seeks that middle ground of two-minute, duly researched, thought-provoking articles covering those topics essential to Liberty.
It is strongly suggested that I establish tiers for patronage and rewards for promoting this blog. Still I am unfamiliar with this functionality on Substack, so some time will be needed before I make decisions about these. For the moment, as I fully realize the incalculable demands on your attention at any given moment, greatly I appreciate your indulgence, and hopefully my blog will inform, entertain, and inspire you to share far and wide!
Welcome to Substack, Dan!
